kitchen inspiration

Moving to a new place really gets my DIY/decorating wheels turning. I've spent hours making boards on Pinterest of items I want in my new place! One thing though is realizing that as long as we rent, we are limited in many areas. One in particular, is the kitchen. I like a lot of things about our new kitchen, but others I could really do without, namely, the cheap-o cabinets and the dastardly small and shallow sink. It's awful. Anyway, I came across this kitchen reno today and was totally inspired! Still can't probably do a lot with my apartment, but WOW...she did a great job! I love the cabinets and the sink! And that pot rack! Very cool. Check it out.

More Kate

Can't get enough of this girl!

gotta love the newborn funny faces

She is a funny sleeper - waking around 7:30am, maybe or maybe not taking a morning nap, taking a forever long (4+ hrs!) afternoon nap, maybe or maybe not taking a late afternoon nap, and going down for the night at 8-9pm. AMAZING. What newborn sleeps 10+ hrs at night? She wakes to eat of course, but goes right back down. We are so grateful for a better sleeper!

She is smiling like crazy. Very happy when she is awake. Liking a paci. Sometimes liking a bath. Still goes cross-eyed occasionally. Has the greatest leg rolls and enormous double chin! Is getting SO LONG. Such a joy!!

Sweet Kate

Second child syndrome appears to have happened on the blog...sweet Kate hasn't gotten nearly the mention she deserves! She truly is a sweet baby. She is very content and miracle of all miracles, falls asleep on her own!! She started smiling at 4 weeks and loves smiling at her big sister. She cuddles readily and loves snuggling. She is a chunk and we all love it! She is already fitting very comfortably into 0-3 month clothes and she is 6 weeks old!

Last week I took some pics to compare with Ava as a newborn:

Ava was feeling left out so she hopped in the picture. First I got this:

then this:

and finally, this:

Here are both girls.

Ava, 3 weeks

Kate, 6 weeks

Kate has a lot more hair and it is a totally different color. Her eyes are a lot closer set, too. I'm so interested to see how much they will look alike as they get older!
