Science Fair!

In October, we headed down to DC with the Bassett clan for the first ever National Science Fair. It was held at the National Mall and they had thousands of vendors/booths. My sister-in-law, Loralee, was invited to participate with her candy experiments! It was a blast - we all helped man the booth (admittedly, some less than others :)) and got to visit some of the other booths as well as the awesome museums. We had a great time and enjoyed seeing family, even though it was only a short trip. We we were glad we ended up going - Ava had been throwing up during the night for the previous 3 nights so I didn't know if we (Ava and I) should go, but when she woke up the morning of the trip without having thrown up, we took a risk and decided to go. She was great and we had so much fun!

Cousin love!

Ava was completely enamored with Katherine in particular this trip - she wanted to walk and hold her hand EVERYWHERE! For a mom who usually has to pry her daughter off of her, I was so proud to watch her be a little more independent. It was so sweet to see her bond with her cousins.

Working the booth...Katherine was one of the most stalwart and effective booth workers we had! She even got interviewed for a South American TV show and did awesome :)

Enjoying some time in the capital.
